Comedy
Comedy Romance is one of the newest genres
available to readers and it's growing in leaps and bounds each month with
more and more authors, both traditional favourites and up-an-coming debut
authors
trying out this
popular
style.
Comedy Romances are characterised by a guy and girl "Finding Love"
in spite
of everything that occurs to stop this from happening. Zany plots, ridiculous
scenarios and very interesting characters are the style of this genre.
Comedy Romances are usually contemporary in setting and have a modern style
of language, with loads of dialogue between absorbing characters whom often
generate spin off books, which means more fun and frivolity! Love scenes
can range from the mildly sexy to the sensual.
If
you want something to make you feel good, lighten the load a little,
make you giggle or make you laugh right out loud on the bus
- then we can recommend
some great authors to you! Favourite
Authors include: Susan Andersen, Jennifer Crusie, Rachel Gibson, Dara
Joy, Jne Graves, Katie MacAlister, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Christie
Ridgway, Sarah Strohmeyer, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Sherryl Woods and
many more.

duels and waltzes. Geographically the settings are primarily in London and
the British Isles, with some European exceptions.

Suspense
Romantic
Suspense is a genre which is sometimes overlooked because many people
don't consider it Romance, but it is by far one of the most popular
forms of Romantic Fiction. If you like to be up late at night, on the
edge of your seat, totally caught up in the gripping tension of a good
blood-curdler, then we have some great books for you!
We have created three general classifications within our Suspense section
to help customers find their kind of thrill.
They are Crime/Suspense; which has its own sub-genres of Futuristic/Crime/Suspense
and Psychic/Crime/Suspense; Miltary/Espionage Thrillers, and Mystery/Crime
Crime/Suspense themed stories are closely entwined with a significant
crime such as murder, serial crimes, kidnapping, disappearances, etc.
Guidance
should be used for some authors, as to the explicit nature of some
crimes and writing. Most often the story revolves around specific law
branches/organizations, and may include elements of the Military/Espionage
Thriller.
We recommend Susan Andersen, Catherine Coulter, Julie Garwood, Jessica
Hall, Kate Morgenroth, and Karin Slaughter.
Futuristic/Crime/Suspense is where the Crime/Suspense plot is located
in a Futuristic period of time or place. JD Robb is the main exponent
of
this sub-genre.
The element of Psychic Crime Suspense is for stories
where there is specific psychic ability employed by either the hero
or the heroine to solve the crime.
We recommend the Whispers and Evil trilogies' by Kay Hooper.
Military/Espionage Thrillers are themed stories
which have protagonists from one of the armed services of one of
the world's nations, either
real or ficticious. The setting may
include
a war
or military
conflict, real or imagined. Espionage devices may be involved, and/or
Political intrigue and hostage rescue situations.
We recommend Cherry Adair, Suzanne Brockmann, and Vicki Hinze.
Mystery/Crime stories are mostly about the investigation
of a crime related mystery by a protagonist who usually does not
belong to this
field. There can be close association with law personnel/organizations
to aide the main protagonist.
We recommend Janet Evanovich, Virginia Lanier, Elizabeth Lowell's
Donovan International series, Karen Robards, Jo Ann Ross, and Jessica
Speart.
